Father's Day Card with Fifi the Papercrafter papers

 Hi friends!

Today I am sharing a Father's Day card I made using a page from Fifi the Papercrafter's new kit called Grungy Mixed Media Backgrounds Kit 3. As soon as I saw this page I knew it could become a card for Father's Day.

I simply printed off this page from the kit on cardstock. I cut it down to 4x5.25" for a card panel. I cut the remaining part to other sizes that seemed to make sense to use in a future project and set those aside.

I tinted the edges with oxide ink to give it a more aged look.

I used this distressing tool to scuff up the edges.

I used a stencil to add some arrows with a blue tone. I think these arrows go nice with anything transportation.

I use baby wipes to clean my stencils and work table. I use a baby bottle drying rack to dry my stencil before I put them away.

I added the sentiment by first dusting the panel with an anti-static powder. This really helps with embossing especially when you want a crisp finish as with sentiments.

I chose a contrasting color of embossing powder, in this case Crackling Campfire Distress Glaze.

I still wanted to adds something else so I used a black splatter ink.

Before attaching to a card base, I used a dark brown ink to add color to the edges. I didn't want this to be a smooth, even colored finish.

I glued the panel to the card base and done!

Vintage Ladies birthday cards

Today I made a couple of birthday cards from a set by Diamond Press called Paper Dolls. I adore this set. It has two different ladies and several vintage outfits. I chose one lady, one dress but used 2 different skin tones and backgrounds. I love how they turned out.

I cut the sentiments on the front to mimic newspaper clippings. I purposely cut them imperfectly like they were cut from the newspaper. I added some bling and sparkle with sequins and splattered with Spellbinders Sparkle Silk. I used Stitched Scallop Oval and  Stitched Arches to add a background.

On the inside, I cut rectangles using Paper Rose Stitched Rectangles Dies and used a birthday sentiment stamp from Altenew Beautiful Inside Stamp Set and attached cut little die cuts that were leftover from previous projects.

The paper and sequins were products I already have in my studio.

These cards are for sale in my shop: Paula's Studio
