Christmas in July Day 5

 Hi there friends! 

Today was a relaxing day. I try to allow downtime around holidays. We all need that from time to time. 

Today's card is using a stamp set from Gina K Designs. 

 

1. Cut a 3.75 x 5 inch panel in cream with a die to make it a frame.
   
   
   
2. Lay the frame on a white 4.25 x 5.5 inch card panel and mark the edges so you know where you are working.
   
   
   
3.  Use blue ink and a blending brush to get an uneven, darker at the time coverage inside the frame. 
   
   
   
4. Stamp the tree and deer on the blue with black ink. 
   
   
   
5. Stamp the sentiment in the bottom corner as this would just get cut off and discarded later.
   
   
   
6. Add some blue coloring to the sentiment area. 
7. Cut the sentiment off the panel. You can use the die for this set, I just chose not to and used scissors.
   
   
   
8. Using white acrylic paint, splatter some on top of the design to represent snow. Let this dry so it doesn't get smeared.
   
   
   
9. Glue the frame to the decorated panel. 
10. Cut off any excess paper.
11. Use adhesive foam attach the sentiment.

Holiday card with Creative Expressions

 Hi friends!

For the month of October, I did a "31 Days of Halloween Cards" and i loved it so much. I am doing something similar for December but my schedule is pretty full and crazy. I won't commit to a card a day but I will post some as I can. Halloween and Holiday cards are my absolute favorite to make and I don't mind making festive cards all December too.

 I am not afraid of anything glitter as some people are. I think it cleans up easy and add so much joy and sparkle throughout the season.

Sympathy Card using Gina K Designs set

 Hi friends!

Today I present to you this sympathy card I made using Gina K Designs set call Delicate Flowers. 

The set has stamps, dies, and stencils available. 

I have the vision in my head to make this a single flower with leaves on a stem so I take a card panel that I had already put some gold splatter on. I stamped the flower and the leaves. 

I tried my best to place the leaves so they can be attached to the stem. 

I use the stencils to add color to the flowers and the leaves. I used one color for the flower and one color for the leaves.

 

 The amount of pressure used during application can allow you to get darker and lighter versions of the same exact ink. 

I drew the stem with a marker in a slightly darker green than the leaves. 

I picked a cardstock in a color that I liked to frame the image and attached both to a card base.

I added some gems and we are done! I know some people might feel that my color choices are too bright or cheerful for a sympathy card but I don't think in terms of that. It is cheerful, simple, beautiful and it is hopeful to bring a second of joy to someone who needs it.
