Hi friends!
This week's CRAFT Challenge Blog's theme is Anything Goes. The sponsor is The Paper Shelter and the design I used is: Swimming with Friends. Please join us in these challenge!
This set came with already colored designs and others that can be colored. Normally, I would color myself but I really liked how it already was and I know I couldn't do better. I decided I wanted the image to be seen through a window on a boat or submarine.
I have a nautical stamp and die set from Diamond Press that has a porthole and some sentiments that I think would work well for my idea. I stamped and cut the porthole out.
I printed out the graphic and cut in the shape of a circle to fit the window.I cut out the window with the matching die and a panel both in brown that made me think of wood. I then used an embossing folder to add wood grain texture. I added some variants of brown color to them.
I glued them in place. I used Ranger Glossy Accents to add a shiny layer over the image to give the illusion of glass. Set aside to dry completely before moving on.
Once the window gloss is dry, I decided to add more color to the wood and I did go by dragging a gelato crayon over the texture. I'm really pleased at how easy this was to do and how it turned out.
I added a sentiment on a background that adds more color to the card and compliments the image. I also added a piece of knotted twine to add interest and texture.
