Craft Challenge #735 - grandparents

Hi friends! I know it's been a little bit since I've made a post. The whole month of October will continue to be hit or miss as far as writing goes. I'm still working very much behind the scenes. I am also still working on harvest and preservation of my garden. I perform as 2 different Halloween characters around metro Detroit. We are in full swing of rehearsals and costume production. Performances are just starting this week with 1 done and at least 18 more to go! I don't have any children and I love all the holidays especially Halloween and I found a sane way I can celebrate it as an adult. I perform as a dancing witch for events including festivals and parades. I also perform as a Michael Jackson Thriller dancer for a local dance company and this year we have several shows at the Detroit Zoo and other events. I wasn't a dancer at all until a few years ago! It just feels good to get out and share some joy with people who love the season too.

This week's Craft Challenge Blog's theme is: grandparents. The sponsor this week is: Polkadoodles

I used design:  Golf Cart Gnome

This one is pretty basic. I just used the print and cut feature with my Silhouette Cameo and software. I colored the design with alcohol markers by Tombow and Spectrum Noir. I used papers from my collections. The sentiment is from a retired Diamond Press set. The gnome is popped up for dimension by simply folding a piece of scrap paper in an accordion fashion. This works so well with mailing because it is nearly flat while in an envelope. The background die is from Pink and Main.

CRAFT Challenge Blog #723: Sports/Transport

 Hi Friends!

Today I am telling you about this week's CRAFT Challenge Blog theme of Sports/Transport. The sponsor is Polkadoodles and the design I chose is Golf Cart Gnome which was an easy choice as it fits both the Sports and Transport options.

I brought the image into Silhouette Studio and used the trace option to get a trace on the image and cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo.

I used colored pencils and Gamsol to color the gnome.

I used Distress Oxide on the background for the sky.

I used a stencil to make some clouds in the distance in the sky in the same color.

I used watercolor pencil to draw some hilly grass for the golf course and the flag.

I wanted to add some whimsical clouds and used dies to make those. I colored them the same color as the sky. I didn't want them to be a blaring white as I want the gnome to stand out in the scene. I also added a sun.

I stamped a sentiment.

I added some white whimsy marks, as I call them, using a white gel pen.

All done!
