Purse Party Favors with White Spruce Studio

 Hi there friends!

Today I am sharing these oh-so-cute purses that I am using as party favors. Every month I host a craft night with friends and February is our anniversary month. No matter what our project is the night's theme is Galentine's Day because our very first craft night was just a group of friend's doing a craft for Galentine's Day. Little did we know that one night would turn into years. So despite the fact that our event is later in the month and not on February 13th (the traditional Galentine's Day per its origins from the television show Parks and Recreation) we are celebrating our time together.

I made each attendee a unique purse filled with treats. I am not going to give step-by-step instructions for the project because the designer includes those when the file is purchased but I will share my spin on it.

The files also include some patterns to print for the papers. I did use one of those but I have so many patterns within my Silhouette Library that I rarely ever use. I decided to make each purse different using different papers. All the other papers used where from my scraps.

The only other change I did was that the design for the purse body has score lines. I am using my very old Silhouette Cameo #1 and it doesn't automatically do scores lines since it can only hold one tool in the carriage. There are two ways around this:

1. You can remove the score lines from the design and manually score the paper with a scoring board. I tried this once and was successful. A helpful hint for this would be to let the software print the lines to help you know where to draw the score lines.

2. You can keep the score lines in the design but change them to perforated/dashed lines. This is what I did for the remaining purses as this is the method I normally do.

The tassels are so easy to make.

I use trays when making projects. This helps keep things sorted and organized. I gave each purse its own tray so that I could make sure it had all the pieces as I cut them.

Creative Fabrica -- 28 Days of Love ~~ Day 2

 Hi Friends!

Today is day 2 of the Creative Fabrica campaign: 28 Days of Love. Today's bundle is this font bundle:

Beautiful Valentine

I chose one of the fonts, called  Anetha Valentine, to make a card with text as the main feature:

Each day of the campaign, Creative Fabrica is giving away a craft machine:

Sign up for subscription and be entered to win a craft machine!

For this card, I cut the text out of glitter adhesive vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo.

I used 3 colors of Distress Oxide inks to color the background.

I sprayed and sprinkled water directly on to the paper. The oxide inks react to water. I then dabbed it up with a paper towel.

I distressed the edges. I added some red ink around the edge too. I finished off with a few red sequins.
