Birthday Card Catalog post #3 with Spellbinders

 Hi there friends!

Today I am sharing another addiction to my Birthday Card Catalog using Spellbinders new release with Esther Glas.

Today I made the divider for the August birthday cards. I still used the same base card as I do for each person that I send card to but I added a labeled tab at the top. Each month will use things that represent that month and could be derived from birth stones, zodiac, flowers, seasons, holidays, etc.

Here I chose poppies because that is an August flower. I stenciled the flowers, added some background color and two shades of splatter.

My style, even in junk journals, is still quite simple but I love color. Junk journals are traditionally made with a distressed vintage style but that isn't always my mood. I love color and sparkle. I just do You will see as the projects progress that I will tend to really lean more towards color and sparkle.

I can now add 2 index cards that I made for 2 people to my August divider as they both have August birthdays.

Spellbinders + Esther Glas release - continued!

 Hi there friends!

Today i am sharing the next card for my birthday card catalog using Spellbinders latest release with Esther Glas. Each person that I made birthday cards for gets one of these index cards. I can make a birthday card for them anytime of the year and file it in the birthday card catalog.

My mom loves yellow and loves lemons too so this one was very easy to come together. I used yellow ink on the embossing folder in an uneven swipe. The date of her birthday is colored in a dark pink. Next I stamped and colored lemon from Simon Hurley stamp set.

Here is the link to my first one I made: Bonnie

Spellbinders + Esther Glas Release!

 Hi there friends!

Can you believe August starts tomorrow! Eek! The year keeps flying by. Christmas in July didn't even convince me that Christmas was getting so close. I know, I know, I didn't share a holiday card every day in July. My life gets busy unexpectedly quite often. My garden also sometimes calls for my attention. It's all part of life.

Today is the Spellbinders release with Esther Glas! I was selected to work with this release for them and I will be making projects all month long to highlight these fun sets.

If you're into journaling, junk journals, scrapbooks, inking, vintage, distressing -- then this release is totally geared towards you! While I admire so much what people do in those genres, I hope to share different styles and uses.

A big project that I am working on is a birthday card catalog. I make a card for it that highlights a specific person and things that make me think of them or something I know that they like. When I make a birthday card that is perfect for that person it gets stored behind their name card in the card catalog box that I will set up.

For this card for Bonnie --

I used an embossed index card that includes her name and the day of the month her birthday lands on. I picked some violets as she likes gardening and flowers with some summer color inspiration.

I think that's a pretty good start to a fun project that will get so much use for years to come!
