Craft Challenge Blog #772

 Hi there friends!

This week's challenge on the CRAFT Challenge Blog has a theme of: Christmas. The sponsor is: Dr. Digi's House of Stamps and I using the design called: Last Tree in the Shop. 

 I decided to use a Color Cube card to guide me with the color choices.

I brought the design into Silhouette Studio.  I sized it to fit onto an A2 sized card and a little smaller. I used the trace tool to trace the design. It had a very jagged result and would not simplify to my liking. Therefore, I used the Offset tool to make slight offset around the shape and that did the trick for a smooth outline. I cut the design on my Silhouette Cameo.

I colored it with pencils.  

I chose pencil colors and background papers to fit The Color Cube card I am using: 

 I added silver splatter.

 

I then added sequins for sparkle and a sentiment outside and inside. I am bad about finishing the insides of my cards as I make them. One goal for the new year is to stop making cards with blank insides! I think I met the color challenge.

A Blooming Birthday with Spellbinders

 Hi there frieneds! Today I am sharing another card I made from Spellbinders January release. This time it is one from the The Poet's Garden Collection by Susan Tierney-Cockburn. I am working with the Wild Violet and Ladybugs Etched Dies. 

 I cut out all the floral pieces in white cardstock and applied watercolor to them. 

 I set those aside to dry while I stenciled the background. I used pink watercolor to add a splatter to it. The sentiment was created with a Betterpress.

Once floral pieces were dry I used a mat and a ball tool to add shape to them. Picture below is from another project but same process for this one: 

I start at edge of petal or leaf and drag the ball towards the center.

Assemble and adhere all flowers and then adhere to the background card panel.

I used a 3D paint to add centers to the flower.

Birthday card with Roo and Kanga!

 Hi friends!

I am here with another card featuring Roo and Kanga from Spellbinders January release. There are so many good way to use this set and today I am using it as a birthday card that I feel can work for even a parent to an adult child  -- any age really.

 This one is pretty straight forward using die cuts but the blocks are from an embossing folder in the same release. I ink blended a sheet of paper and cut out some blocks. The sentiments are pressed in the Betterpress.
