Christmas in July with CRAFT Challenge Blog #785

 Hi there friends!

Here I am carrying on with Christmas in July. It's been a busy month so I have found I just cannot get one done every single day. It's okay because I actually try to make one holiday card every week and have for many years so they are all done by the time I need to mail them. 

Today's card is for the CRAFT Challenge Blog current challenge which has the theme of Christmas. The sponsor I am using is Sheepski Designs. 

 The image is colored with alcohol makers. The background is from an embossing folder inked up with green ink with a darker green added to the raised image of branches. The sentiment is cut from a tie and what I always say when my kitties take interest in the Christmas tree.

Christmas in July Day 18

 Hi there friends! 

I hope this Saturday finds you well. 

Today's card is a monochromatic one and I am using a Nordic die from Poppy Stamps. Their Noridic line is so beautiful. Although I am using this for a holiday card, I could see this die set being used for a wedding card as well.  

I cut the bells in 3 different shades of blue and mixed up the colors for each bell. The sentiment is stamps and heat embossed in a dark blue glitter all on a patterned paper from my stash. It is that simple. The only thing I wished I had done differently is not line of the bells on the left so much in a vertical line. I like things to not be aligned. I prefer wonky and crooked and this wasn't enough of that.

Christmas in July Day 17

 Hi there friends! 

I hope to find you well -- keeping cool and out of the smoke if the wildfire smoke is affecting your area. Here I am with Day 17, yep I skipped again, sorry sometimes life takes priority outside of the studio. 

 For this card, I used a die set by Sizzix.I omitted the greenery for the trees because it is winter and it didn't make sense for me to use them.

I used glittery cardstock for the snow pieces and added white paint for snowflake splatter.

The background is a 6x6 patterned paper with a printed sentiment on it. I don't make scrapbooks or albums so these types of paper often get unused. 

I cut it down and covered the text with the snowglobe.

I let some the stars and snowflakes peek through. 

Finished off with a sentiment on the inside.

Christmas in July Day 15

 Hi there friends! 

I hope all is well in your world. Here it is garden, heat, humidity, and now smoke from wildfires. Tomorrow will be an indoor day for sure. Today's card is done with some stenciling and foiling:

 For this card, I started off adding "Joyful" as a foiling technique.

I will say it did not come out perfectly. I used heat foil with the Glimmer machine to set it. It came out looking distressed and I decided to just go with it. There are several reasons as to what may have caused this -- not enough pressure and low quality foil are usually the answer. The foil I used is a brand name (not Spellbinders) but it is really old and isn't even sold any longer, so I will go with that assumption. I think if I were to do this one again I would pick a dark blue or black foil so it stands out more. It does stand out better in real life than the pic shows because it is shiny foil. 

After I foiled, I used a layered stencil set to add that whole background design. I pretty much used the same colors as on the package for it because they are the colors that make the most sense for the vegetation depicted. 

I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die and mounted on a red background panel and then to an A2 card base. I added some glitter to the poinsettia centers because I always have to some sparkle.
