Tooth Fairy Bags with White Spruce Studio

 Hi there friends! 

Today I am sharing with you a set of tooth fairy bags I made using a design set by White Spruce Studio.
You can add a name on the reverse side which I would do later when I know who is getting them.

I am on a mission this year to use what I have in my studio as much as I can. It is getting cluttered in here and I would love to get supplies used. Vinyls are a big part of that. I don't use adhesive or heat transfer vinyl that much anymore as I lean more on papercrafting. Vinyls do expire and can crack or not adhere well over time, so now is the time to use them up!

My supply list is posted below. Please note two things: 1. I have not listed any heat transfer vinyl on it as I am using my collection of them and I hope that you do too in the colors and styles that you choose. If you need to buy some, my favorite brand is Siser. 2. The bags I am using for these came from a business that no longer exists. Mine are 3x3 inches. I couldn't find any in that size but I added 2 very close that I found on Amazon that would be what I would buy when I need to replenish what I have now.

The design file is by White Spruce Studio and the link to it is also on my supply list. 

Instructions:

1. In your software for the cutting machine, draw a rectangle that is the size of the area that you will apply the design -- meaning don't include the top part where the string is located. I am using Silhouette Studio.
2. Bring in the design(s) that you what to use. 
3. Resize the designs to fit in that rectangle from step 1.
   
   
   
4. Separate the parts of your designs.
5. Mirror the design and it gets cut backwards. 
6. Cut them in the vinyls of your choice on your cutting machine. I am using a Silhouette Cameo.
7. Weed the unneeded vinyl from carrier sheet.
   
   
   
8. Starting with the tooth, press each piece separately (the two eyes = 1 piece) making sure to use a teflon sheets in between the heat source and the project and a protective wool mat or other heat resistant surface underneath. I am using a Cricut Mini Press. They are perfect for small projects.
   
   
   
9.  Once all the layers are applies, cover the project with the teflon sheet and press the whole thing again. They will reduce or eliminate any lines made by the carrier sheets and give a solid final press. 

 
The fun thing about this design file that you can mix and match the accessories as you please. I made three that were exactly how they were designed and the fourth one is a mix-up of accessories.

Craft Challenge Blog #777

 Hi friends!

I know I've been quiet quite a bit lately. I am always still here working behind the scenes but lately I've been adjusting my daily routine and trying to pack more into my day. It's not easy! I'm getting it done though.

This week's challenge over on the CRAFT Challenge Blog has a theme of Seasons/Weather and the sponsor is: Polkadoodles Crafts. The design I am using is: Parkie Polar Bear and Theo Penguin. This pair is so cute. I paired them with a stamp set from Picket Fence Studios.

Supplies are listed at the end, here are my instructions:

1. Bring the file into the software of your electronic cutting machine. I am using a Silhouette Studio. 
2. Resize the image to fit inside a rectangle that is 4x5.25 inches. 
   
   
   
3. Using the print and cut feature, make sure the design will be cut only on the outside. Print the design and cut it with your cutting machine.  For some reason, I couldn't get the software to NOT cut off one of his ears. It still printed okay and I was able to attached it on the backside so if you have the same problem, no worries, it still can work.
4. Use alcohol markers to color the design.
   
   
   
5. From the stamp stamp set, stamp the glacier in a medium to light blue color and the sentiment in black.
   
   
   
6. Smear some of the blue ink on your work mat and spritz with water. Use a paint brush lightly color in the glacier. Let dry.
   
   
   
7. Using scissors, cut the glacier and the sentiment out separately and set aside.
8. Using a dark blue paper, cut a background panel measuring 4.25x5.5 inches. I used a stitched die but just cutting is okay too. 
9. Using a white paint, water it down and splatter with a fan brush to give a snowy effect.
10. Adhere the bear to the glacier to he is sitting on it, then adhere to the blue background panel. 
11. Using foam tape, adhere the sentiment to the panel.
12. Add holographic stars to the sky. 
13. Adhere the whole project to an A2 size card panel and add a sentiment of your choice inside.
